Enhancing Literacy & Numeracy with ICTs

Minister of State Brian Hayes TD launched a new book for primary teachers “Enhancing Literacy & Numeracy with ICTs” on Monday 7th November at 4pm in Dublin West Education Centre.

 

The publication follows ICTs in the Primary School: Teaching and Learning for the 21st Century which was published in 2010 and which was received extremely favourably by primary school teachers all over Ireland.

The publication brings together in a unique and creative manner three of Ireland’s top educational priorities of the day, namely Literacy, Numeracy and Information and Communications Technologies.  Dublin West Education Centre Director, Gerard McHugh said that “Enhancing Literacy & Numeracy with ICTs is a wonderful resource for primary teachers as they use technologies in teaching the very important areas of Literacy and Numeracy in their classrooms”.  The book which is written by 21 educationalists working at the cutting edge of technologies is edited by Tallaght principal, Robbie O’Leary.  

Funded by Dublin West Education Centre and Navan Education Centre, a copy will be placed in every primary school in Ireland.
