This face-to-face course provides a practical overview of the mainstream teacher's responsibilities within the Continuum of Support framework. Participants will learn how to identify additional needs, use assessments effectively, and design targeted support plans (Classroom Support, School Support, and School Support Plus) in collaboration with the Special Education Teacher (SET).

Understanding the teacher’s role in SEN and the Continuum of Support
○ Overview of the Continuum of Support (Classroom, School, School Support Plus)
○ Teacher as lead agent in assessment, planning, and delivery of support
○ Collaborative planning with SETs and SNAs

Identifying a need with a child - assessment
○ Recognising signs of need (academic, social, emotional, behavioural)
○ Using formal and informal assessments, observations, and checklists
○ Gathering evidence to inform support planning
