25AUT36 (LL) Understanding AI in Wellbeing: What's Possible, What's Practical

25AUT36 (LL) Understanding AI in Wellbeing: What's Possible, What's Practical

This webinar introduces educators to the evolving role of AI in promoting wellbeing in schools.

We’ll explore what AI is (and isn’t), highlight practical tools already being used to support student voice, mental health, and workload reduction, and unpack the ethical considerations of using AI in educational settings. Grounded in the Wellbeing Policy Statement and Framework, this webinar offers a realistic, balanced look at how AI can complement relationship-based practice - without losing the human connection.

This webinar also raises awareness of how AI can support sustainable wellbeing systems in schools - reducing workload, encouraging digital efficiency, and empowering student voice, all of which align with the broader goals of Climate Action and Sustainability Education.

By the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Define what artificial intelligence (AI) is and clarify common misconceptions about its use in education and wellbeing.
  • Identify practical, accessible AI tools that can support wellbeing promotion in schools (e.g., for planning, communication, and student engagement).
  • Explore how AI can complement the Wellbeing Policy Statement and Framework for Practice (2018–2023), particularly in relation to student voice, relationships, and resilience.
  • Recognise ethical considerations in the use of AI, including data privacy, digital equity, and psychological safety.
  • Reflect on how AI can contribute to sustainable wellbeing practices—supporting staff workload, reducing duplication of effort, and enhancing digital efficiency.

Please note that the Zoom link for this webinar will be emailed to registrants on the day of the course event.

This FREE webinar with Nicola Culloty is a collaboration in partnership between Dublin West Education Support Centre, Blackrock Education Support Centre, Drumcondra Education Support Centre, Kildare Education Support Centre and Laois Education Support Centre, and is suitable for Primary & Post Primary teachers, SET's & SNAs.
